Punta Cana International Airport Recognized Among the World’s Best for Passenger Experience by ACI World
Punta Cana, La Altagracia. — Punta Cana Airport (PUJ) has been recognized in the 2025 ASQ Customer Experience Awards, presented by Airports Council International World (ACI World), as one of the best airports in the world for passenger experience. The 2025 award marks the ninth time in its history that PUJ has received this distinction, having previously earned it for eight consecutive years, once again consolidating its leadership in the region.
PUJ received the award in the category “Best Airports at Departures, by Size and Region,” in the Latin America and Caribbean segment (5 to 15 million passengers per year), a distinction that recognizes excellence in service from the direct perspective of those who matter most, travelers.
This recognition carries special significance as the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) program is based on passengers’ direct feedback while they are at the airport, evaluating their experience in real time. Surveys are conducted randomly among travelers across different areas and operating hours, capturing authentic and representative perceptions of the service delivered daily and accurately reflecting the true passenger experience.
Globally, nearly 707,000 passengers were surveyed in real time, and more than half of the world’s air travelers passed through an ASQ-rated airport. Satisfaction levels continue to show a positive trend, driven primarily by perceptions of clean and pleasant spaces, a welcoming environment, quality human interactions, and significant improvements in border and passport control processes.
In this edition, 100 airports worldwide were recognized for excellence in passenger experience. Punta Cana Airport’s inclusion in this select group reaffirms its regional leadership in hospitality and service quality. This achievement coincides with a year of strong operational momentum, during which PUJ maintained high passenger and aircraft movement volumes, even reaching weekly records. The distinction granted by ACI World validates not only a specific performance milestone, but a sustained culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaborative work. More than an award, it represents international confirmation of PUJ’s commitment to delivering memorable experiences aligned with the highest global standards.
