    Foods allowed for traveling with children

    Regarding the entry of food into the country, according to the country's animal and plant health entity, there are only restrictions for products derived from seeds or meat, and you can travel with them unless you enter with the permits granted by the country's Ministry of Plant and Animal Health.

    How to travel with breast milk

    According to the regulations of the Dominican Government Entity, the Specialized Corps of Airport and Civil Security (CESAC), passengers traveling with baby formula, breast milk and/or baby lotion will be able to access the security check room, as long as they are traveling with their babies. These items will be examined and must not exceed 100ml per bottle.

    Within our terminals we have breastfeeding rooms available for use in the boarding areas.

    Terminal A: Located in front of the Duty Free Americas store exit, next to the transit/connection area.

    Terminal B: Located in the Food Court area of boarding gates 27-33, next to Taco Bell.

    Inside our terminals we have recreational areas for children, close to the boarding areas.

    At our airport we have priority lines for families with children 0-3 years old, people with reduced mobility and people with special needs.

    In our Terminals we have recreational activities available (seasonally) and a mechanical games area aimed at families with children.

    HELI WHEEL: Located in Terminal A, boarding area in front of gate 8.

    AIRSHOW: Located in Terminal B, boarding area next to gate 23.

    At the airport, passengers in transit must pay close attention to the information regarding their next flight, as this may involve moving from one boarding gate to another, or even from one terminal to another within the airport. It is essential to stay informed about the terminal from which your next flight will depart and to always follow the instructions or guidelines issued by the airline. In some cases, the type of connection may require temporarily entering the country in order to proceed to the airline counters with which they will continue their journey to the final destination.

    In order to enter the Dominican Republic with a pet, passengers must present a health certificate from a veterinarian in their country of origin along with all up-to-date vaccinations. There will also be an entry fee for the pet of $10 USD/$500 DOP (payments must be made in cash). The paperwork and payment will be handed over to the Department of Agriculture, once they pass through Customs.

    For the day of departure, prior to checking in for their flight, the passenger must first go to the Agriculture counter in the check-in area of their corresponding Terminal. There they will present the same up-to-date documents along with the departure fee of $10 USD/$500 DOP.

    In the event that the passenger stays more than 1 month in our country with their pet, the passenger must visit a veterinarian in the Dominican Republic before leaving the country. This is just to make sure that the vaccinations are up to date before leaving the country.

    TSA's 3-1-1 security check-in policy states that the product must be 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less, must fit into one (1) quart-sized bag, and must be only one (1) per carry-on bag.

    In the Departure processes we also have automated migration, with the same nationalities as in the arrival process. The age required for entry is 12 years and older.

IMMIGRATION

To enter the Dominican Republic, a valid passport with two blank pages is required. President of the Dominican Republic issued Executive Order 430-17 which mandates incorporating the tourist card fee of US$10 into the airfare cost. As of April 2018, the Dominican Republic tourist card entry fees are incorporated into airfare.

This means that the fee for entry into the country which was previously paid upon arrival at the airport will now be included in your airline ticket. By Dominican law, there’s also a US$20 departure tax, the cost of which is usually included in your airfare (verify with your carrier). Airport Special Security (CESAC) follows but is not limited to TSA guidelines.
